American comedic actress Betty White started her career in the late 1930s as a television personality, with several appearances in talk, game, and variety shows. After a lengthy run on The Mary Tyler Moore Show in the 1970s, White co-starred in another popular TV sitcom the following decade in The Golden Girls.
