Donatella Arpaia | 40 & 47

There are a lot of modern women today who prioritize their careers over having a relationship and starting a family. Gone are the days when women are expected to wed and bear a child at a certain age. Women today are liberated and interested in achievements just like the celebrity chef Donatella Arpaia, the lawyer turned chef and a Michelin star restaurateur. Her Italian chef father influenced her to pursue a culinary career. Apparently, the same heritage and culture that kept her from having a child at an early age.

Likewise, she has a lot to prove and got busy with her career. All the while, she knew deep down that she wanted to have a child. In her late 30s, Arpaia met the love of her life, Dr. Allan Stewart. In 3 months, she got engaged, and a month later she was pregnant. At the age of 40, Arpaia had her first child. She wanted to grow their family, but since she struggled in conceiving naturally, she tried IVF for years. Luckily, their last try of IVF went well, and she got pregnant with twins.
